Siddikur to play in AE CHT Open-2017

The professional golf in Bangladesh is set to expand its horizon beyond Dhaka with the inaugural edition of Chittagong Open at the scenic Bhatiary Golf and Country Club scheduled to start from March 29.

Established in 1984 on a scenic area of small hills and valleys amid natural beauty Bhatiary Golf and Country Club is already a popular destination for many international guests visiting Bangladesh’s second largest city.

Whenever Chittagong hosts an international cricket match visiting players take a trip or two at Bhatiary for recreational purpose. But the course is an unknown territory for professional golfers, especially from outside Bangladesh, largely because of its lack of international exposure.  The inaugural Chittagong Open can help minimize the gap and expose its beauty to the players from other countries.

A total of 78 foreign players, mostly from India , Srilanka, Nepal, South Africa and 56 locals golfers  are expected to participate in tournament. The maximum foreigners never played in this curse.   The inaugural edition can present them with a surprise with the scenic beauty of the course.

But it is not just the natural beauty that made the   Bhatiary Golf and Country Club as the venue for Bangladesh’s second largest PGTI tournament. The management of the club has developed its facilities in recent years, which made the venue eligible to host the tournament here.

The Asian tour regular and the legend of Bangladesh Mr Siddkur recorded his name at the last moment.

He will spearhead the close bought between Udayon Mane, Sonil Joshi and few other Indian golfers.
