December 20, 2017

What a co-sequence, Shakawat Hssain Sohel became champion in ‘8th Summit Open once he earned the playing rights in Asian Tour for 2018 season on country spot recently and also heading for ‘PGTI Q School at the start of next January . This prize money of taka 01 lac 50 thousand will help him attending these tours . With the increased prize money of taka 11 lac this tournament saw a highest participation of 114 players (92 Professional and 12 Amateur)
Sohel – a veteran topped the tournament playing -5 under par putting some brilliant performance in 3rd round.
An improved score considering the playing opportunities that our professionals are getting now a days -one player can play only once in a month (18 hole round).
The turn for one player out of 120 comes after one month as 20 players can play 18 hole twice in a week . And the most importantly the overall performance is costing due to lack of practice of pitching and putting though the nucleolus of professional golf game is the game around the green.
The golfing image of any country depends on the standard of its depth of professional golf, tour capacity and its quality players etc. Definitely such increased prize money will enhance the BPGA tour capacity . BPGA is working to take the Bangladesh Golf all over the world with an aim to find more Siddiqurs.
