Mohammad Younus, Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, and Sifat Ahmed Chaudhuri, Vice Chairman of ABN Formulation and Trading Ltd., Elected BPGA President and Secretary General
Mohammad Younus, Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, and Sifat Ahmed Chaudhuri, Vice Chairman of ABN Formulation and Trading Ltd., have been elected as the President and Secretary General, respectively, of the Bangladesh Professional Golfers’ Association (BPGA) for the 2026–2028 term.
The BPGA Executive Committee Election for the 2026–2028 term was held on 26 June 2026 at Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka Cantonment. Following the successful completion of the election process, the Election Commission officially announced the results on 27 June 2026.
The newly elected office bearers are: President: Mohammad Younus, Vice President: Dr. Afshan Anis, Secretary General: Sifat Ahmed Chaudhuri, Joint Secretary: Md. Musa, Treasurer: Mohammad Nurul Kabir.
The following were elected as Executive Committee Members: Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Md. Shakhawat Hossain Shohel, Brig. Gen. GM Quamrul Islam (Retd.), Bashir Ahmed, Abul Kalam Azad, Md. Dulal Hossain, Sahid, Md. Ismail Hossain, Md. Sajib Ali, and Nadim Hossan. The BPGA Election Commission expressed its sincere appreciation to the outgoing Executive Committee (2024–2026), the Election Appeal Committee, all candidates, voters, and members for their wholehearted support and cooperation in ensuring a transparent, peaceful, and successful election.
The newly elected Executive Committee reaffirmed its commitment to advancing professional golf in Bangladesh, promoting the welfare of professional golfers, and strengthening the activities of the Bangladesh Professional Golfers’ Association during the 2026–2028 term. The newly elected Executive Committee has reaffirmed its commitment to working for the development of professional golf in Bangladesh, enhancing the welfare of professional golfers and strengthening BPGA’s activities during the 2026–2028 term.
