Jamal Bags 12th Summit Open at Ease.
January 9, 2023
04 January 2023, Dhaka. It was not clear at the start of the day who would come successful. The gallery was busy to spot ‘Siddikur and Jamal close fight in the final round under adverse weather condition. It was one of the coolest temperate making the wind heavier and tougher for golfing.
The deer and birds of small Zoo at hole 02 of Kurmitolla Golf Club even know these big guns of Bangladesh Golf. They were also in search of some hot sun. All were perturbed to see Siddikur finishing at second with a big margin. Here the people donot want to realize the fact of Siddikur becoming father and that kept him away from practice for days recently. The expectation was very high – as if Siddikur means only winning in Bangladesh Golf.
However, Siddikur’s boggy at hole 01 due to weak ‘chip and put and an easy miss of putting on 8th green made a worse start for him in front 09. He started the back nine with a’ birdie at ‘hole 10 but immediately after his driver got sliced that landed near 17th tee making him compensating the ‘approach shot over the 11th green. It looks the hole 11 still remains as a stranger to Siddikur Rahman . That hole 11 score was boggy and turning point for him. Ultimately he had to call the day for 01 over par making him joint runners up with a total of 07 under par.
In other hand ‘Eagle at hole 03 and ‘birdie at hole 06 kept ‘Jamal cool at front nine even after having boggy at hole 05. He saw 03 birdies and 02 boggy at back 09 that gave him a stable lead with score of 03 under par for the day. So he could finish with 13 under par for the tournament to snatch the championship with good prize money at ease. So ‘Jamal’s ‘golfing form for the year 2022 still continues very loud with an exceptional ‘world golf ranking of 803 this week.
Badal who looked ‘out of the race in 2nd day came back hard in the final round. He played some good golf and made for consecutive birdies from hole 13 to hole 16. He made the best score for the day with 04 under par. Finally the Saver boy Badal Hossain touched Siddkur and 2nd position showing all the potentials of making future hero of Bangladesh Golf.
Another Saver boy Md Muaz will fly to India for PGTI Q School final stage next week with a very good memory of playing 06 under par. He finished 4th for the tournament.
